Shout Out to MXroute

I just wanted to give a quick shout out to my email provider, MXRoute. First and foremost, they gave me a great deal on email hosting at a time when my wife is trying to get a business off of the ground, in addition to my primary domain that is tied to my blog. I signed up for the Lifetime Promo (10GB storage, unlimited email accounts, unlimited domains, 300 outbound emails per hour) for a one time price of $99. As of today, this package is still available on their site. If you’re looking for business hosted email, please take a look at them.

Second, I would like to give props to their awesome customer service and support. The welcome email gave me everything I needed to login to their CPanel for the first time, setup my DNS, and setup the mail client on my workstation. In addition to that, the CPanel is an absolute breeze to work with, I had both domains setup with a handful of email addresses in each in no time.

But the thing that really stands out to me is what a stand up guy the owner, Jarland Donnell is. The first and only email that I’ve received from MXRoute besides the initial welcome email was a postmortem report following a brief outage. In it was a concise explanation of what happened, how he takes total ownership of it, how it was resolved, and what will be done to help prevent it from happening again. Having been in IT for a number of years myself, I’ve seen providers quickly point the finger back at the customer or toss a vendor under the bus. So this email was a very refreshing change. I submit their Terms of Service page as further evidence of what kind of man he is.
